I need some help....tried speaking to BT but just keep getting passed from pillar to post!

Ive got my home hub and main telephone plugged into a microfilter and then plugged into the phone socket. However with the two of them plugged in together i cant get a dial tone on my phone....if i unplug the home hub from the microfilter my phone works fine!
BT cant seem to find a problem and ive been on the phone to them constantly for 3 days! has anyone else had any problems like this?

It's probably a microfilter problem. Those things seem to be so unreliable, no wonder BT provide you with a few of them in the first place.

whilst BT try the line, until the line is carefully broken or is defective underground the line tests ok, in case you haven't any longer have been given a time-honored grasp socket interior the abode ( as defined interior the yellow pages) you have between the the older sockets, in view which you have examined the line with a corded telephone. additionally plug interior the corded telephone into what you deliberate to be the main important socket with no longer the rest plugged in, if the line remains noisy the fault will extra effective than possibly be outdoors, in case you have an overhead cable coming on your abode from a pole it rather is the main possibly criminal because it rather is the only part of the community it rather is open to the climate and gets blown approximately, if this is going defective the try equipment doe's no longer constantly %. this up. inspite of the incontrovertible fact that broadband is a unusual factor and can in many cases artwork (in many cases at a decreased fee) over a noisy line.while you're uncertain that's the main important socket hint the overhead cable from the pole into your abode and the closest socket will in many cases be the main important one, Re rfile your line defective and clarify which you have finished each and every of the known exams to make certain the fault isn't inner, and BT will bypass the interest directly to a minimum of one among their engineers who will restoration your line. desire this helps.
