1.) Dont baby yoour tattoos!! i have one on back/neck and the guy said to not let soap hit it, so i said "ok" and i went home slept on back, showered i have long hair so... only lotioned at night and morning and it still looks great. I got it about 2yrs ago, oh not babying means it'll heal faster.
2.) My friend followed every instruction on hers when we went together and hers took like 2-3wks to peel and heal. Mine took max 9 days!!!
3.) Sure a&d till you get home but take the bandage off once your home to allow it to breath, the more air quicker it can scab and flake of. DONT PULL OFF yourself!! it'll give you different light and dark shades.
4.) Pick something you will love for long long time, Mine are all meaningful. i have HOPE w/a rose and butterfly on my back/neck, thats my middle name and first time my dad and mother agreed on something and last about me. then i got a small heart on front of hip with 231 in middle, that RIP for a highschool friend who got murdered right when he walked in his work. Oh my last one is my sons exact foot prints from the hosp on my bottom left side of my back.

You do have to be 18 to "legally" get a tattoo, but I'm sure there are some places that don't check.
And, it's true that your tattoo should not be exposed to sunlight. It can make the colors bleed under the skin, even when the tattoo is old. I ALWAYS put a high SPF on mine when it's going to be out in the sun, even after 4 years.

You have to be 18 in a lot of places to get a tattoo but I'm sure there's disreputable places that don't check, I wouldn't go to them at all.
You can expose your tattoo to sun, but you need to put sunblock on it because you don't want your body art to fade. And my tattoo artist told me to not go swimming for about two weeks if the tattooed area is going to be under water. This does not mean you shouldn't get your tattoo wet, you must wash it a couple times a day with mild soap and warm water.

they might have places where they will do it if your parent allows you to, and yes they check id, and scan it with you form. also you do need to leave it out of the sun for two weeks, but the beach is more harsh on your tattoo than just regular exposure, so i would wait about a month before going to the beach, unless you want your tattoo looking like u dipped it in bleach.

(1) yes, they make a copy of your drivers liscence
(2) it can be exposed but you have the risk of it fading even worse than it does when you first get it so use common sence.
