My husband is in the military and we live in Germany right now.Recently I volunteered to coach youth sports and had to pass an extensive background check.I passed and went on to coach the kids. Now I want to get paid to keep a few kids during the day,at my house, but need to have another bkgd ck done. But just today I found out that on my old one, there was a disgretion! The lady said sometimes that could happen if I had past problems with my bills...the only other thing I can think of is I got in trouble once for underage drinking and I was in the military and had to go through a rehab program. But I was young and stupid. Now I am 27,haven't been in trouble since then, and don't have any kind of alch. probs!Should I be worried that I won't pass the check this time? This one is more extensive,of course, since I would have kids in my home, alone.I am really disappointed because I got all excited about making money and playing with kids all day and getting trained in child development

to my knowledge if you got in trouble and got an m.i.p that was before you turned 21. I am almost certain that when you turn 21, m.i.p's get wiped off your record, so you shouldnt have to worry. even with that, a minor in possession or a pi is only a class c misdemeanor. when they do back ground checks, they are checking for mainly felonies. They want to know basicly if you have a history of violence, theft, drugs, and so on. You should be o.k.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aNH23

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

I don't know about where you are, but here in Canada you can get a pardon, and things from your youth criminal record don't come up on your adult record.

So I say if it's from when you were 17, and it's been 10 years without problems, go see if you can have it removed off the record if there is one. Here it's something called pardon services(I think).

Other than that, I say be honest when they ask if something will come up on your background check. Tell them you ran into some trouble at 17 but nothing since. 10 years is pretty impressive.

Also just one indiscretion so long ago may not be reason enough to worry, again because so much time has gone by that most people wouldn't pay much attention.

When you fill out your security questionnaire, don't leave anything out. They won't gig you if you put on there that you were drunk underage while you were in the military IF you had it on your sheet before the investigation was started. If you didn't, they will think you were trying to hide something and you could fail the investigation and not be able to be a child care provider.

My only advice would be to disclose any indescretions you've ever had with the law to who ever is running the check. I am assuming it is some sort of state social service place. Since its nothing related to children you probably will be ok, but I have no idea. That would be my opinion!
