David was the the king of rock for sure. His lyrics were not nonsensical, jabbering about Ole Mac Donald or Mary Had a Little Lamb. They were from his heart. Many of the Psalms, the songbook of the Bible, were written by David and his worship band. In his worship he declared, “God you are my rock.” David rehearsed who God was to him personally in his worship. Speaking of rocks, it was a rock that was used to bring the giant to the ground which I think you are referring to. He understood it was God, his rock that defeated his enemies. When you have an angry king, a huge army and every town in the nation just waiting to turn you in for a king’s ransom, you learn very quickly that it takes someone more powerful than a mortal man to take care of you. David recognized God as the source of his help. He said, “You are my strength and my song,” So with all his bad role model type of sins ... He learned to roll his problems into God’s hands, which makes him a good role model to follow.

In this day in time, I really doubt it. Although he may not be punished by god, anyone who tries to follow in his ruthless footsteps will have a hell of a time staying away from the christian fundamentlist and the goverment. Hence that he would be a notorious all known sinner. Therefore he would be punished greatly. Nope not really a role model. But for many christians it seems as if he shows that no matter how much you sin. Your omnimax god surely still will love you.

I guess the rock thing was O.K., in one sense, since Dave's rock throwing days were pre - glass windows.
How ironic that people who don't live in glass houses are still throwing stones.
Palestinian children, for instance, are still throwing rocks, and one Christian tourist, told me the rocks still sting. She is a senior citizen who learned that fact up close and personal.
Some things never seem to change. A well aimed rock can still kill.
Come and think of it, Dave did good and even got himself a statue in Rome.
David had 900 wives? Make that man a saint!

Not hardly, but if you want to know how forgiving God is then I guess that's a good story to read.
He had 900 wives and took this guy his friends only wife and got her pregnant and to hid what he did he had him killed along with a bunch of other guys by manipulating war tactics.
He didn't care how many men died to cover his sin.
World leaders use other men as pawns for their own agendas. Still do!
Because he numbered the men 70,000 died. To cover his sin. I think he is the one that needed to die for his sin.
2 samuel 24: His military chief tried to talk him out of it Joab.
In the end he had him killed to. Some people get by with murder while others die for hiding how much money they are donating.

David committed adultery and killed a man because he wanted his wife Bethsheba. David had great faith in God especially when he killed Goliath for mocking God. But he wrote the Psalms or a great deal of the Psalms and David had great faith. David loved music. David was a man after God's own heart. He had strong faith, hope and love.

He did something terrible, but repented and was forgiven. Yes, I believe David is a good role model for Christians who believe that they are doomed because they think God will never forgive them.

David was still the apple of God's eye even though he committed some terrible sins.

It's all about grace.

HI
yes he is and all of the faithful servants of God are in teaching us how to endure and be faithful until the end. They also show us examples of how to behave in extreme situations a lot can be learned on how to please god by reading about them. David also teached us about how God can forgive sins if we turn around and be faithful again.

David PBUH has special high rank in Islam. Although he was a prophet king, he was very kind, devoted and sincere.

God says that if someone opresses your family, your country and your country people, then give them a chance. if they still opress and hurt your people, then fight back to save your loved ones.

the biggest of all sinners is not he who sins, but the worst of all sinners is one who witnesses the sin and acts of cruelty being committed and yet does nothing.
