Can murder charges be pressed against "suicide baiters"?

Question

Just in case you don't know a "suicide baiter" is someone who provokes a suicidal person to kill themselves. For example shouting "Jump!" to a person trying kill him/her self from a fall.

The reason why I am asking this question is because there is a lot of suicide baiting in the mental health forum on this sight. I just wanted to know if I could report them to their local authorities.

I am asking this question to know if I can report suicide baiters on this websight to the police!!

I AM ASKING THIS QUESTION BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW IF I CAN PROTECT SUICIDAL PEOPLE IN THE FORUMS BY REPORTING "BAITERS" TO THEIR LOCAL AUTHORITIES!!!!!

In my own state the act of which you describe COULD be considered "Criminal Solicitation."

It's my honest belief that some on this forum are here to provoke serious thought while others are here to just have fun!

Sadly, this world has some who have no cares about anything or anyone and enjoy "pushing" others to the edge.

They are pathetic types who feed off the misery of others.

As far as I'm concerned, they are nothing and I ignore them. Those in a moment of trouble may need support...but they're not stupid either. As far as what most read on here...I believe they know who to listen to ...and who NOT to listen to.

Nah, the only thing they're "guilty" of is Assisted Suicide. I've stated for years we need a televised public service announcement 3 times a day which simply states "Kill Yourself". This world would be a much better place.

The only charge that is remotely related in Canada is "assisting suicide" but that would mean you would physically have to help the person, not taunt them on a website.
DON'T bother the police about this.

how can you dislike someone that much?

did you already do whatever it is that you were looking to do, to bait this person into suicide? if so, i would say turn yourself in, and tell the police that you didnt realize that the person would really take you seriously. if the person has not comitted suicide, then you need to go to them, and tell them that you are sorry.

not only would you be guilty for life, but how would you ask forgiveness of something like that (if you are a christian) even if you arnt a christian, how can you go on living, knowing that you made someones life so horrible, that they killed themself?

i would say you are going to prison if you do any such thing, so i would just apologize, and walk away.

I fail to see how telling some self-pitying ******** to "jump" constitutes culpability.

The whiny POS jumper will jump or not regardless of what others say.

To hell with suiciders, especially those who are into publicly dramatizing themselves. Personally, I think police should shoot down the jumpers.

IMO there are 2 types of suiciders. Those who really mean it don't tell people, they don't go to public bridges or buildings during rush hour - they very quietly and efficiently go about offing themselves.

But the public whinybitch asshats? To hell with those attention-seeking crybabies - they are more interested in seeking pity for how badly the world has treated them than in offing themselves.

BTW, I've had people tell me cryingly how cruel life was and they were going to end it all, boo hoo hoo. I told them to shove it up their butts, stop pitying themselves and grow up, because if they really wanted to kill themselves, they'd already be dead.

A kick in the butt has done people more wonders than all the soft validations of the self-pitiers' feelings. In my experience.

A prosecutor can "press" any charge, but it is extremely doubtful that you'd get a murder conviction.

I suppose you might be able to get a conspiracy conviction depending on what form the "baiting" took (e.g. did he supply the gun or just say "just go kill yourself"?)
