HI
I was wild but practiced being mild and it is a habit now and i don't think about going back the other way, i am happier now not taking risk and I have a better conscious.

I suppose you would maybe refer to me as Spiritual instead of Religious - but I am a member of the United Church of Religious Science (soon to be United Centers for Spiritual Living - we're changing our name) - and I definitely have a wild side.
We drink - and dance - and wear whatever we want - and swear - and have pre-marital sex - and the church is accepting of everyone. According to our church - we can do whatever we feel the urge to do - as long as we are not harming others.
As for the people who are in a church - and it doesn't allow these things - and how they don't go crazy - well - maybe they don't have a wild side.
I do. So thank goodness I found a church that is right for me. And I must say that as I get older - the wild stuff doesn't seem nearly as important.
Also - if one's wild side is so wild that others are being harmed - then religious or not - that's just not right.

They do go crazy. And to them, a wild side is driving 35 in a 30. Look at Ned Flanders on the Simpson's. I know it's a cartoon, but it is a perfect example of a ridiculous Christian.

How do non-religious people not go crazy constantly giving in to their 'wild side'?
Works both ways.
For those who are trained in the practice of self-restraint, letting loose every now and then is joyful experience. And those who cannot practice self-restraint become prisoners to their animalistic nature.

I will admit that many times during my life it was difficult.
I had to take steps to insure my success at NOT doing those things I'm not supposed to do.
One was never talking to an attractive female without my wife along side of me.
Another was no longer hanging out with friends that drink and carouse.
It's gotten easier now that my body will no longer allow those activities, I'm to darn old.
How's that for a candid answer from a Christian Preacher.

Having fun is not against my religion, just being stupid about it. Equally stupid is the religious fanaticism of various types of fundamentalists that causes you to think such things. Foolish fundamentalists should pay more attention to questions like yours because then they would realize that they are promoting disbelief and winning converts for atheism. I can understand why you would never consider going to any church if you thought it meant you could no longer have fun.

i'm a 4th era Bengal Cat. My tremendous tremendous grandfather replaced into an Asian leopard, so i'm fairly a lot already on the wild area. My people have a tough time protecting with me, yet they love me.

Most "religious" people compensate by spewing out self-righteous rhetoric.
"Spiritual" people however, learn basic things like deep breathing, that naturally calm the wild side of human nature.

My thoughts are that Christians control their "wild" side in order to maintain a good character and a respectable behavior.
Sure it is fun to get crazy, but if God is your greatest love, you want to please Him by demonstrating the most pleasing, gentle character that you can.
