You must download an add-on too.
See add-ons of firefox at https://addons.mozilla.org/
For example, I use DownloadHelper for youtube video download.
Here:

ok, there's a way to download Youtube vidz and it's really simple, you only have to open the vid you want to download on youtube and copy the URL of the vid in the Url field at the right side of the vid, once you have the url, go to this site:

http://vixy.net/

and paste the Url on the yellow field. just leave the option " Avi for Windows (divx + mp3) on and click on "start"... the video will start to convert to a viewable format and when it's done it'll give you a link for downloading... indistinctly, if you have firefox or IE, the download should start automatically. should you have any question just ask me again and i'll help you. enjoy.

it does not show on the bottom right as it does not load up when the pc starts (that is what those icons are - start up programs) - go to firefox site and search add-ons page for the download youtube vids.

Yes you can. First you need to get the extension Video Downloader. Here http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php is where you can get that. Once you get it installed restart Firefox, then go to youtube. There will be a little icon at the bottom of your browser that you click on to save the video. A popup box will give you the option to save the video. Right click on the download link. It will give you an option to save as get_video.htm. You will want to rename this as whatever.flv Once you rename it to an .flv file and save it it will download and you can play it with an .flv player, VLC Media player plays them well. You can find it here http://www.google.com/search?q=vlc&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

YouTube cannot be downloaded anymore since it is now part of Google. You can bookmark it on he side and go there anytime from Mozilla. There are various add-ons for Firefox, so try a few of those.

Try a free program like tube sucker. 30,000 downloads so far....I always turn to download.com for free software.....Just make sure you find software others have given a good rating, this is a good way to tell that it is safe to use!
