i have hallux valgus on big toe - i was told it was a common sports injury - most commonly found in squash and racquet sports. Its from banging foot down it causes deformation of joint, it can ultimately progress to hallux rigidis when joint fuses and no longer bends.

I got sent for physio too - initially it was really painful but now it causes no pain it just doesnt bend as normal!
