Scalp vein sampling is the better than CTG to monitor the fetal distress.......once we get the variable deceleration, its better to do fetal scalp sampling, because type 2 decelerations are pathological........and CTG can not detect the extend of hypoxia...thats why fetal scalp sampling is done, to measure the oxygen content in fetal blood,it can help to determine whether to continue the labour any furthur or not.also help in knowing the platlet status of baby .when once it is found that fetus can not tolerate more hypoxia any more , and going into sever distress then labour should not be continued and should go for c-section

Internal CTG is better than external, because it is more precise.......and used when cervix is dilated and internal CTG is preferable when a complicated childbirth is expected !
