Only if you are getting nourished spiritually, if not you should move to somewhere where you would enjoy worshipping with other people and find spiritual fulfilment.

No sometimes the Church changes in a direction different from where you are going on your spiritual path. Sometimes you change direction and need to move. Sometimes you were never in the right Church in the first place.
I also believe that one Church may just be meant for you as a stepping stone into another. It nurtures you and then you move on. I do not beleive in leaving a Church unless you have really discussed it with God. Some people get caught up in Church politics and start wanting things to change to the way they think it should be.

If you are referring to the church as a building or a religious denomination, it really doesn't matter. If you are referring to the church as being all believers, then you are asking about unbelief. The important thing is that you are where God would have you, where you can grow in your knowledge and love for Him and other people. Some people find joy and growth where they are first planted. Still others find that they may disagree with a denominations doctrine because they sense in their spirit that it does not align with God's Spirit. Sometimes God would have us stay there, so that the church can work things out and be perfected. When all is said, we need to worship Him in Spirit and truth, where ever that may be. Trust in the Lord, pray and read His Word about it, and He will guide your path. God bless.

A christian should stay in a church that he/she feels comfortable..in a church where he/she thinks and/or sees that they are teaching the true word of God and not adding or removing things from the bible.

If your really confused and are not sure if you should stay at the church where you are or if you should attend an other church..the only person who can truly tell you is God..ask him..and he will answer you..and his answer will be better than anyone here in yahoo! answers could give you.

Not necessarily. I grew up Episcopalian, but was called out of the church several years ago, I imagine because it began taking a sinful direction with homosexuality. I now attend a non-denominational church with my wife and daughter. If you're unhappy with your current or first church or aren't feeling spiritually fed, then yes, by all means pray that God would help you find a new, spirit filled church.

No. I 've been down that road.
Was saved in a Pentecostal church, but my husband and I decided we were being called somewhere else. When we let the pastor know they were very concerned and talked about being uprooted.
We maintained contact and I think some part of them thinks we should have stayed, but they are accepting of our move.
What should be on the watch for is "church hopping".
Really consider what is prompting you to seek a church family elsewhere.

Stating, "For faithful Christians only" is just asking for trouble, but anyway.....

No, I don't think people should confine themselves to one interpretation of God's word. You must hear it from different people, and hear different viewpoints, and worship with different song and dance. The same church gets boring and monotaneous.

I myself no longer attend church as you know it. I am my church. My parents, however, still attend regularly, and they have 3 or 4 different churches that they skip around to. They did attend one of the churches continuously for over 15 years though. Switching churches never seemed to have negative effects on their faith. I'd say its perfectly health to switch.

God has set up the members each one of them in the body (! Cor 12:18). Based on this scripture I believe that we should always seek the direction of the Holy Spirit as to which church we should attend and move if so directed by the Holy Spirit. I am still in the church which the Holy Spirit has led me to.

That is following Tradition, not God's law. You will know if you are in the right church by the 'fruit' they bear. By their actions. If the church you have been in all your life goes against Bible truths, or the religious leaders are proven to be wicked, then, I'm sorry, it's time for you to search for the real Body of Christ. I'm not saying I know who they are, but Christ did say that in the last days there would be faithful followers that he would approve of.

No. I think a christian should seek a church that studies the bible and follows it without rituals and such added. If you don't get 'fed' by one church, you will 'starve' and need to find one that does 'feed' you. It is not always easy to switch churches because we make friends there and feel comfortable, however, we need to look out for our spiritual growth.

The logical answer to that is no if he finds that that church is false or is teaching false doctrine|

If that is the case, then the right thing to do would be to search for a Church that you believe teaches the truth and sound moral principles|
