A lot of people think they can. Animals can sense the differences in people. So I think they can. When I was rodeoing and if I was injured or something my horse would respond to that and be easier on me and not as rough. Also, my grandfathers horse was always more gentle and laid back when my little sister was riding. So I think animals know when there is a difference.

Some dogs will sense pregnancy, then act differently.

More than likely. I saw a programme on TV that showed when some dogs started acting differently they had detected the early stages of cancer in their owners. Some research has been done and it definitely proved that in some cases and with some trained dogs it was reliable and correct.
If dogs can sense such a traumatic and foreign change in a human then it follows that they can detect something as normal as a pregnancy.

Dogs are incredibly sensitive not only in the smell department, but also mood and feeling. I have no doubt in believing a dog can sense pregnancy. Bless.

Dogs general use a their sense of smell for this, spotting changes in the chemicals that are emitted from our bodies.

Many dogs notice a womens time of month. Search dogs, can recognise the different scent of a live or dead person.

Yes, dogs definitely know if you're pregnant and do behave differently. Have you tried letting your dog sniff your stomach, they are usually very interested.

I believe they do, our golden retriever knew I was pregnant before I did. She was constantly beside me and never let me out of her sight for nine long months. She did this both times I was pregnant. I think they can sense these kinds of things.
