My girlfriend recently got a passport and she wants to come to visit for a couple of weeks. She is japanese, and has never been to america. She is afraid that she might have trouble getting through customs for reasons unknown. Is this ever a problem for someone just visiting? This is real scary for us, and I really never had to deal with it. Thanks for your answers.

I've never met someone from Japan with a legitimate tourist visa that had any problem. We don't have a ton of illegal immigrants from Japan, or anything.

As long as she has all needed documents for entering the U.S. by a Japanese citizen, she should have no problem.

Probably not. The TSA could do a random search but it isn't that bad. It may take a few extra minutes.
