yes you can pick the age group that you want...my cousin does foster parenting and she chose not to take in small babies....theres alot of licensing and background checking on you and your spouse before you can become one but its all worth it in the end ....her biggest thing is trying to adjust these children into a new house after just being taken from their parents...and they need more attention from you so if you do have your own children its also hard for you to adjust to that to...good luck with your decision....

You can pick the age group for foster children. I know in the county I live in they do no recommend you taking in a child older than your own. I however took in my 14 year old nephew (whom I hadn't seen since he was 2) two years ago and haven't had any major problems with the children.

You are definitely able to pick the age group of the children that will be in your care. I was going to become one, but I don't have kids so I can't give you advice regarding that. I'd say that it would be a valuable learning experience for your children, but only if they're able to understand the amount of time and co-operation that it's going to take to have another person in the home. Good luck!!

yes sweetie you have the right to pick which age group or child that you will accept. And yes i would do it in a heart beat.My sister in law does it and she gets so much joy out of it.The only thing that i see is she gets so attached to some of the kids that she has a really hard time when they leave, good luck
