Me and my girlfriend have been together for about 2 and a half years now, and separated for half a year. The problem is that she lives in japan and I am an american. I am very apathetic when it comes to paperwork. I just want to know how I can get started working on getting a visa or green card for her. We have even talked about marriage, so that is definately an option. I need ideas please. Especially from those who have done this sort of thing. Thank you in advance!

I was in the same situation...the easiest way, file a petition as fiance...then marry her as soon as she comes here in the US.

For some reason, this is quicker now that marrying her first abroad and try to get her here.

You will need proof of relationship, IE pictures together. That is all I know for sure (I was going to bring someone here).

I'd say marry her....and then bring her here. A lot easier.
