I don't know..I'm so confused...Should I remain optimistic. I'm usually able to think well and my memory is well but now when I cannot think well, I stress up and get angry. I start worrying and my memory seems to worsen and my thinking seems to be blocked.

Oh usually if someone hits my head, I tense up and worrying thoughts hit my mind. I'm ultra perfectionist and I cannot concentrate on what I do without worrying about something. Is it affecting my brain? What's the cause of the memory loss and lack of thought?

Sometimes stress can affect your brain function. You need to try to calm down, and not focus so much on whether or not you are thinking as well as you used to. Believe me, I know how you feel, I fall into the same trap of obsessing about whether or not my brain is working properly all the time, and the best thing that I've learned to do is just try not to think about it. Whenever I start to think about how my brain works and how it's different from other people's brains and all that stuff I just stop myself because I know it will be detrimental in the long run. I just try to focus on anything else.

Chill out! Psychological tests have found that you can never forget anything you just lose the pathway in the brain to that memory. Cues can help you to remember these things. Or if you are really worried write down what you want to remember. Forgetting can also be due to you not rehearsing the information enough so it is not transferred into your long term memory so the body discards it. If in doubt seek medical advice.

See http://www.anxietytreatmentnetwork.org/search/? & www.stress.org Learn and use the breathing method at http://deeplyrelax.com/ when feeling stressed. Do what you reasonably can about the source of your problems, then accept that anything further is counterproductive to your mental health, and say aloud: "That's it for the day; I refuse to worry any more!" and go and do something you enjoy, or find interesting, or garden, or meditate. If you notice yourself beginning to worry again, say to yourself, aloud if appropriate: "I know this tactic; GO AWAY FOR A WHILE!!!" You may wish to use either "ruse, ploy, game, trick, or scam", instead of "tactic".
