I thought he was joking so I told him to go pound sand...before I knew what was going on he blasted me in the face with a pillow!!! It really hurt and made me cry but I ran into the kitchen and made him his pie...when he was done eating he told me that he was sorry that he had to do that and he wouldn't do it again and that he just loves me so much he gets angry sometimes. The next day he came home with a new ring for me and two dozen roses!! I love the gifts but I'm scared he'll hurt me again...but he promised that he wouldn't so should I trust him? I'm confused and I have two black eyes!!!!

If this is true, that he really hurt you, then this is really serious. He is displaying the classis signs of a wife-beater....seriously. As you said that you "love the gifts", then hopefully that means that you can live without this guy...sure, the gifts are nice, but you can find someone else to buy you gifts! Please don't stay with this guy, what does he mean "you make him so angry sometimes"...how?? That angry he has to beat you? No way....this guy is no good. Buy yourself gifts instead, no matter how much you may like him too, it's just the beginning with this....first black-eyes, second broken bones....and who knows what next.....

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Be careful because this is how the cycle of abuse begins. They hurt you to get you to behave how they want. When that is over, they are so very sorry and bring beautiful romantic gifts. Eventually, the abuse happens more and more frequently, and the romance and appology phase gets shorter.
"I just love you so much that I get angry." Think about that, sweetie. True love does not make you angry.

If he is abusive now, It will only get worse. Get him some anger management help, counseling, etc. If he won't get help, get away from him quickly. A broken heart may take a bit longer to heal but it won't leave permanent scars. If you stay with someone like that you're only inviting bodily harm to yourself. He may say he won't do it again, and at the time he may mean it, but hon, the guy is dangerous.

One time is never enough for an abuser. If a lousy pot pie set him off what's next? You better consider your options.

He'll do it again. And he'll bring flowers and rings and swear "it will never happen again"guess what???? HE"LL DO IT AGAIN. Without professional help he'll turn you into a punching bag. There is NEVER a good reason for hitting EVER.

You have to ask us, total strangers? To make the dumb pie you have to have turkey, did you have to roast the turkey first? Get rid of that loser, and do it fast, it will get worse certainly not better, run while the running is good.

If he has a violent streak in him, you'd be best to leave before you are hurt more seriously. There are PLENTY of guys that wouldn't go that far.
