The name Joy is very pretty, but I think there needs to be a middle name. It'll give it a little something more.

Feels like a middle name is needed

i think the name Joy would go better with a middle name that has two syllables.
Such as, Joy Louise May, (kind of old fashioned sounding, but you get the idea) For me, just "Joy May" doesn't ring well.
I like one syllable names, but think they sound better with foreign names.. Such as Chun Li, or Kwan Yen.

Think of the child in about 4th grade with a name like Joy.
He's not going to like it.

honestly it doesn't really roll off the tongue very easily.. something like Cindy May or Jenny May would be better in my opinion.. of course my opinion shouldn't matter to you.. choose whatever name you like best! :)
