I think, to believe you have a purpose, you must first believe that there is some reason for your existence.
I believe, yes, from a scientific standpoint, the conditions were right for life to flourish on this planet, and evolution was kind enough to help us along. But what science has yet to answer - is why do our bodies adapt, why does evolution happen? Why did we evolve and not just stay primates? Yes, I get that it starts out as a useful birth defect, that is passed down and eventually is the norm - but why? What makes our bodies so smart? What is the mind behind evolution? That, to me, is God. Not necessarily a man in heaven on a throne, who poofed us all into existence in six days. But possibly, some type of intelligence that science has yet to proove - and our existence is the result of a very well thought out plan. Is it pure coincidence that we have the ability to reason, and emotions, to guide our actions? What is the evolutionary purpose for pondering my existence? Yes - survival of the species - do not kill because it is our natural instinct to survive. I get it, we love because women and children need to be protected, and men cheat due to the need to procreate - but why do I care about spirituality? What is the evolutionary benefit from that?
So, I believe we exist for a reason that is likely un-completely-knowable, but definitely, on purpose, and not by accident.
Now, for what purpose? For fun? For learning? For the amusement of some God type mastermind? No one really knows - but it's funny how many of us find that feeling of purpose in lives through various experiences. Have you ever found yourself in a place where you just felt was where you should be, right then, at that very moment? Have you ever had that feeling of, "this is so right"? Have you ever had a connection with someone that could just never be broken, no matter how different each of you become? Have you ever had all things, even though the obsticles seemed unsurmoutable, fall into place, and go your way? Why? Coincidence? I don't know. But I don't think so. I don't know for sure what the purpose is, but, these experiences so many of us have, leads me to believe, that there is, a purpose. :)
Love these questions, thanks for asking! :)

First, we have to know what are we. We are made of 2 energies, one material, product of mother nature, and the other spiritual.
Material is temporary, and spiritual is eternal. We exist, but this existence is not pure. Therefore we have to accept birth and death, old age and disease. As spirit soul, we exist as part and parcel of God, and the purpuses is enjoyment, But now we are on a false platform of life, and therefore we are suffering instead of enjoying. Everywhere we see the struggle for existence. Everyone is struggling, but what is their enjoyment in the end? We are simply suffering and dying.
To live forever, to know everything, and to always be happy are our desire that for these three things never really changes, and we exist as something conscious of the desire for these three items. The material body cannot supply these three items; the mind cannot “think” one into eternal life, intelligence cannot construct any plan whereby one can live forever. The only reasonable conclusion is that I am consciousness, and that I am not sure of the exact nature of this consciousness.
Whenever there is a discussion about eternity, full knowledge and complete happiness, God automatically enters into the conversation. God is generally described as eternal, all-knowing and completely content—One without a second. Because the living entity has a desire for these three properties, we can understand that there must be some relationship between himself and God.
And the purpose is that the intelligent soul must therefore seek his relationship with the Absolute Truth as his quintessential purpose. However we exist, there are always relationships and functions. We are now encased in gross and subtle forms of matter—specifically, the body, mind and intelligence.
We are here because we harbor selfish desires, apart from God.

You've asked questions that could fill a thousand books, the kind that have daunted scholars and philosophers for the length of human existence.
I can't say much more than they did, so how about this:
Why not? We evolved on a small blue planet on a middling star among 400 billion stars in our Milky Way galaxy, among billions of galaxies in a finite universe, and we have the awareness to comprehend our own existence.
Purpose is what we make of it. It's a human concept, and it's highly subjective. So why not do our part to help others and enjoy the time that we have? Maybe that will give our lives meaning.

This are the questions of life. Nobody knows the answers and this is why there are gods and theory's made up. I have to say who cares why we exist, we do, or why we are here, we are, what is our purpose I think it is to live live life and never look back. You only live once not twice and never ever a third time.

The reason we were created and we are here is soon going to be fulfilled, Namely:God will bring about the Conditions that he intended to have for mankind living on the Earth in peace joy and happinesswithout sickness death or any sorrow as this sort of thing was not part of his plan for us.
Although the Scriptures clearly show that God's toleration of the wicked has its limits, how can we be sure that evil, once eliminated, will not recur? After all, following the Flood of Noah's day, it soon surfaced again to such an extent that God had to thwart mankind's wicked schemes by confusing their language.-Genesis 11:1-8.
Our main reason for confidence that evil will not arise again is that the earth will no longer be ruled by humans as it was soon after the Flood. Rather, it will be ruled by the Kingdom of God. Ruling from heaven, this Kingdom will be earth's sole government. (Daniel 2:44; 7:13, 14) It will act quickly against anyone who attempts to reintroduce evil. (Isaiah 65:20) In fact, it will eventually destroy the very originator of wickedness-Satan the Devil-along with the demons, the wicked angels that followed him.-Romans 16:20.
Additionally, mankind will have no causes for anxiety about food, clothing, shelter, and employment-the lack of which today drives some into a life of crime. Yes, the entire earth will be transformed into a productive paradise with an abundance for all.-Isaiah 65:21-23; Luke 23:43.
More important, the Kingdom will educate its subjects in a peaceful way of life while at the same time raising them to the very pinnacle of human perfection. (John 17:3; Romans 8:21) Thereafter, humankind will no longer have to struggle with weaknesses and sinful tendencies, making perfect obedience to God both possible and delightful, as it was in the case of the perfect man Jesus. (Isaiah 11:3) In fact, Jesus remained loyal to God even in the face of great temptation and torture-things that will be utterly foreign to life in Paradise.-Hebrews

I lost a young friend to cancer recently and I've been asking those same questions of myself lately.
I think our purpose in life is to feel good without hurting ourselves or others. That narrows things down to one thing: love. Not just romantic love, but the kind of love that transcends age, place and time. the kind of love that replaces resentment and prejudice. The kind of love that makes the person feeling it and giving it, to feel even better than the person receiving it. It's so grand, and in such grand scale that it must be the purpose of life. It enhances everything it touches. It's heaven on earth. Heaven on earth is all we're guaranteed anyway, no matter our belief sysytem. It's the one universal truth. It's the one universal bond. It's the one thing that matters the most.

I think this must be THE question.
I also think nobody but you can answer it, because its different for everyone. Everybody must find within themselves thier purpose.
Im not a buddhist or anything like that. I have lived a full life.
And that particular question is just for each individual to find their own solution.
Great question

What makes you think there is one? The why is to pass your DNA on to the next generation, and the only purpose is the one that you make for yourself.
