It depends on the place that you saw the sign and the context it was written.
1. it could be a genuine misspelling - dog.
2. It could eb a warning by a radical or some fanatic.
3. it could be a message leading to repentance and redemption in that a in a society that has many athiests that God does exist and we should beware as we may be taking things lightly.

First of all "Beware" means: To be cautious of, a warning, admonishment, careful.... So, it depends on how the scripture verse is read in the bible. Then I can go from there.
