war in Iraq, a war for strategic positioning that is costing Americans countless lives?

Do you support killing someone of a different faith who doesn't see things the way you do?

How is my question not objective?

It is a question that deserves a yes or no answer, not some scriptural lecturing.

Wow that is a loaded question.
I am going to say this Christian finds the war in Iraq a little more than troubling. It is not about a matter of others of another faith.
I believe many who supported the invasion in the beginning thought doing so would enable the Iraqi's to be freed from the oppressive rule of Saddam... but to discover it was done under false pretenses made it questionable to begin with.
I have no doubt that Saddam was a horrible ruler, I have too many Iraqi friends, some Muslim, some not who escaped from his regime with too many horror stories, and for the most part they are glad that he has been removed and finally executed. They just don't believe that another dictator will not take his place.
Do I as a Christian support a war such as you describe? No I do not.
Do I as a Christian see the need for humanitarian effort, comfort, compassion for people who are being mutilated, murdered and misused for the sake of a bloodthirsty government? Yes. Do I think that is what is necessarily happening. It is not the best way. I would hope for better.

Yes, I support the war in Iraq.

No, the lives are not countless. There is a finite number of my fellow servicemen being killed.

No, I don't support killing someone of different faith who doesn't see things the way I do.

You frame your questions like the pollsters. "Would you suppout George Bush if he were ripping the skins off of puppies while they were still alive?" "Would you support George Bush if he were giving AIDS medication to everyone in Africa?" Ask the question properly and you can manipulate the outcome.

This war is beyond the simplistic yes or no question posed. It has to do with supression, economics and spiritual freedom. We are under attack from spiritual people. Islamists who hate the "west" and everything for which it stands. They hate us because we a trying to push our lifestyle down their throats. They live in fear that Rosie will pull the veils off their mothers and invite them to become homosexuals. They live in fear that their crime rate will flourish as has ours and that they will need to imprison 2-3 percent of their population. They live in fear that they will be assimalated into the "borg-like" society we have here and that they will lose their heritage. Are these fears well founded? I believe so. Does that give them the right to kill those that they hate? No, I don't think so. Should we protect ourselves? Yes. Should we take the battle to them rather than have them bring the battle to us? Yes.

Just my opinion.

As a christian, I'm for the War in Iraq, though not in the terms you give it. I'm for the war to see the most peaceful means. Pull out, civil war takes thousands of more Iraqi. It will become the new Darfur. I disregard the notion of strategic positioning in the world at the cost of American lives with contempt.

As for killing people of a different faith, I don't really mind if they are trying to kill me first. I have lived in America my whole life and haven't even spoke to those cats over there. Yet it seems like vast majorities hate America. So to them, to hell with ya.

At John 17:14, 16, Christ plainly stated that his followers are no part of the world. During the first century, the Jewish people were suffering under the hated yoke of the Roman empire. The Romans virtually occupied Judea. Did Christ get involved in that? No. Did his disciples? No. the Jewish rebels did, but neither Christ nor his followers got involved – they remained neutral.

True followers of Christ are no part of the world and do not become embroiled in its conflicts, heartrending though they may be.

Even historians report that up until the time of Marcus Aurelius (who was emperor from 161 to 180 C.E.), no Christian became a solider and no soldier, upon becoming a Christian, remained in military service.

I am a Christina Preacher and I do not support any war.
The only thing war gives you is a lot of body bags and high costs.
However, since our troops are there at the order of the President I do support them. They are doing a job that most don't want no part of.
Then again we have a right to defend ourselves from attacks such as the WTC.

You are not asking an objective question but are using 'charged' words.
Someone can support the war and not support "killing people of different faiths who don't see things the way you do".
You lumped the two together maliciously. People who support the war do it for varied reasons and you are bashing.

religion and politics are two different things. I protested this war right from the beginning and many of my reasons are religious ones. Do you support simple minded notions like all Christians are insane fundamentalists or all Christians voted for Bush? I hope not but your question does make it look that way.

As Americans and Christians, we have an obligation to protect our families and American culture. The question should be , As Americans do we love our christian based country enough to fight and protect our God given rights and insure a safe future for our children! Yes, many have forgotten the many lives given in the past to insure the freedoms we enjoy today. Many have already forgotten 9/11. Many who don't even take part in our elections continue to fight against our rights as Americans. I believe that we Christians MUST take an active role in supporting our troops in the fight against those who want to take our rights and freedoms given to us by the blood of our forefathers!!!!! The Christians must now take the necessary action to insure that future for our children.

Those who lean unto there own understanding of scripture are leading others astray and blinded by their "pride!" But this has to occur for the Kingdom of God is coming to this earth and establish His way as the only way.

Pride is man's downfall. The End of the circle of man's self rule will be the beginning of Christ's Kingdom but that "pride" must be broken first!
