Wisdom is the application of knowledge to a new place.
The most wise man who ever lived was - King Solomon, son of David. How did he obtain his wisdom? He asked God to fore-go wealth and grant him wisdom. God rewarded him with both - great wisdom and great wealth.
A more recent example is Ben Franklin. His wisdom is reflected in Poor Richard's Almanac. Aesop was also noted for wisdom as reflected in his fables. Studying these 3 men one can see that wisdom is generally very SIMPLE. A few basic, simple tenants applied to a broad area. Be honest. Don't rush. Be nice. Save, don't spend. Etc, etc.
The Bible says that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom". Even if you are not a believer, Proverbs has the corner on the wisdom market in printed media.

Well, wisdom depends on what you have been through and what you are capable of. But, wisdom is not really helpful in daily life. That is because even if you are so wise and can help someone, they might not listen and that will make you feel totally crappy. Also, if you really want to be wise, remember this motto:
"I can learn from anyone and anythign..It doesn't matter on who or what they are."
Hv fun...and if you are tired of it , i reccomend trying to debate. It is the most joyful feeling when you have won an argument and all along you knew that it was almost impossible for you to do so..Good Luck..

How can you and I be wise? By asking God for wisdom. Proverbs 4:7 - Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore get wisdom, and with all thy getting get understanding. Webster Dictionary : Understanding of what is true, right, or lasting, good judgment, common sense, learning. Sometimes we make wrong decisions, and sometimes we don't use common sense at times. But you learn - for life is full of surprises. Hopefully we live we learn.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning
The wise-hearted man will let himself be ruled, but the man whose talk is foolish will have a fall.
Go with wise men and be wise: but he who keeps company with the foolish will be broken.
The wise-hearted will be named men of good sense: and by pleasing words learning is increased.
Even the foolish man, when he keeps quiet, is taken to be wise: when his lips are shut he is credited with good sense
Let your ear be open to suggestion and take teaching, so that at the end you may be wise
Have you seen a man who seems to himself to be wise? There is more hope for the foolish than for him.
Who is like the wise man? and to whom is the sense of anything clear? A man's wisdom makes his face shining, and his hard face will be changed.
(As you can see, the Bible has many verses on wisdom. Memorize them, get them inside of you, and when you need them, they will be there for you :))

Being wise has NOTHING to do with just books and definitely NOT just the Bible or English.

Proverbs 1:7 says:
"The Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline"
The wisest man that ever lived Solomon said this and when you realise this and ask God(Jesus Christ) to give you wisdom and search his word more then riches and gold, you will be blessed with wisdom beyond measure both now in heaven. If you remain faithfully you will be blessed materially as well.

Reading isn't enough, you also need to get out there and observe. Any book will be fine if it makes you think. One of the most useful pieces of wisdom is realising that you don't have to understand everything and that you shouldn't fill up gaps in your knowledge with more gaps.
Age and wisdom do not neccessarily go hand in hand. I know many old fools.

information poetic conventions and the various sorts of writing facilitates pretty. both Matthew or Mark (can under no circumstances shop in ideas :-), has Jesus cruising into Jerusalem on 2 animals concurrently, a donkey and a colt. This replaced into to 'fulfill' an quite literal reading of a verse in Zechariah. yet that wasn't what replaced into meant. the classic poetic conventions blanketed emphasis with assistance from way of repetition, frequently with some form of strengthen (3 will develop into 4, smaller will develop into more advantageous, and so on.) because it really is the humbleness of the messiah it extremely is being emphasised, the upward push heads in the different route -- the donkey of the first line will develop into the donkey's offspring in the 2d. it really is confusing in case you at the instantaneous are not attentive to that technique of expression. even if the unique target market ought to have got here across it fairly sparkling. it truly is area of the preparation we opt to locate for ourselves with the intention to appreciate the texts. If something so small as a poetic prepare can clutter the waters for us, then what of the marginally comprehensible adjustments in society which have befell because the texts were written? What looks to us as unbearably barbaric were definitely moderations of the winning practices. "an eye fixed for an eye fixed' sounds merciless, even if it meant that you'll in person-friendly words kill a assassin in revenge -- no longer his brothers, sons, uncles and father. And as that reform grew to develop into time-honored, it grew to develop into even more advantageous functional -- economic (products or money) repayment for income lost. and so on. The Hebrew texts are confusing because they reflect something like one thousand years of a society. Consistency isn't an selection.

I do not believe anyone is ever truly wise. Those who believe that they have achieved wisdom are usually the biggest fools. But if we keep learning, seeking and asking than we can gain understanding.

Hi!
Let's first define wisdom....Wisdom differs from intelligence...Wisdom is the ability to know of all things that are on earth, which is more important.
You can develop your intelligence by gathering more tools(data)...obviously reading books and attaining the existing intellligent ideas...
But wisdom comes only by fearing God...This is in the bible and I have seen it happen with people who gave themselves to Jesus Christ.
Here is a shocker...You need wisdom from God to survive in this world and in the world to come...Many intelligent people are destroyed with their intelligence and academic degrees...
