It seems that my friend can't pronounce R properly (properly as in Malay or English 'R'). He is not French or other ethnic who pronounce it differently..

Well ... this worked for my daughter .... and I got it from a kid's show. She would pronounce S as F ... so ...

Repeatedly , we would have her make the S sound ..... and then the rest of the word .... and then say the word together.

Such as ........ "Ess ..... pot ..... spot ! Sss ..... mack ... smack !!! Didnt take too long at all to work.

They have to be able to pronounce the sound individually. And in some cases ..... that may be a lot of work ...

Beat him up repeatedly with a baseball bat. Not sure if his pronunciation will improve, but it will be fun.
