If you have an ear infection you should get an antibiotic from the doctor. Letting it go could lead to more problems. The infection could spread.
I had one once and the infection made my cheek real sore and then my jaw swelled. I had to see the doc then. Good Luck!!

Anything you would normally do to unclog your nose when you have a cold is a good idea.

Be sure to drink plenty of liquids so that the fluids are not so thick that they cannot drain properly.

Take a very warm shower and then simmer some water and breath the steam.

You can put tiger balm or mentholatum behind your ears to help open them up too.

Warm liquids such as tea will help open of the tubes that drain the ears.

A warm moist wash cloth over the ear helps a lot too, and you can lay on it or lay on a heating pad to warm the ear and get it to open up more as well.

Or you can go to a doctor and they have more direct methods. Don't let it go on more than a few days as you can lose your hearing.

If it is wax, then you probably can use a wax softener to clean them out. They have it at CVS. If you just got off a plane, then you have to wait it out. People say you should yarn to pop your ears, but that hurt.
