I've tried it and it works great. It puts your high speed connection to the test though so if you have any issues with it at all you need to get the cable guy out and fix it. Otherwise it will look like the service stinks. The cable guy needed to replace the whole line from the street and replace the cable modem before my connection was stable enough. Works great now. The sound quality is great and it's a lot cheaper than AT&T landline. You should consider Sunrocket though. You pay a year up front and get 3 months free. That makes them cheaper per month than Vonage for the same thing, free long distance unlimited all the time. If you want a referral, use my email link ;-)

I have use Vonage and love it!

The price is reasonable, and I never have had any problems other than when I am uploading a ton of data and then try to use the system. Vonage is slightly more expensive than 'budget' voip services, but they really make upf or it with the features that it comes with. It also has a clearer signal- and if you are replacing a land line than this is very important!

Each account carries the following free services: voicemail, caller ID, call forwarding and call transfer, call waiting, three-way calling, repeat dialing, call return, international call block, and call hunt (the call rings on another phone if you're talking on the called number).

For residential customers, the $24.99-per-month Premium Unlimited plan gives you unlimited calls within the United States and Canada. The $14.99-per-month plan gives you 500 minutes per month to U.S. and Canadian phone numbers. If you exceed your monthly minute allotment, you pay a reasonable 3.9 cents per minute. Calls to other Vonage subscribers don't count toward your monthly minutes.

Give it a try and see what you think - voip is such an amazing technology imho, and it is so much more flexible than other land-based services.
