An NVQ level 3 tell a prospective employer that you are capable of doing a particular job to a very high standard. An A level tells them that you are able to study and pass exams. There is a big difference as far as they are concerned. It costs money to train people to the kind of level for a NVQ3, which generally requires a good deal of experience. The qualification means that they will only have to make some minor adjustments. I have an NVQ3 and there was no training involved whatsoever. It was all assesement of my abilities.

Depends on the grade of th NVQ really, but with NVQs they are work based and you learn what the job requires, with A levels you learn all sorts of stuff which will only really help you if you go to university. I'm afraid A levels probably won't help you right now, but you can go to uni and learn what you need and then you'd get a job higher than that of the NVQ job.

In academic terms only yes they are the same level.
But they may require an NVQ for different reasons. An NVQ is more on the job based etc

they just want to prove that you can do the job they want you to do, NVQ is all about proving that you can do what you say you can
