I have two dogs, and one prefers to sleep on the bed! He isn't little either, or overly big. (about 75 lbs). You know what they don't stay outside, they don't have fleas, so why not! And if the bed gets dirty, wash the sheets! That's why we have washing machines.

Yes my 4 dogs is sleeping with me. My dad did not wanted a dog in the house - but I got one and so it change in our house. I did at first not wanted the dog on the bed or in the living room. But that changed as well with time. So maybe give it some time thing will change maybe for you. Yes they are so adorable when they sleep and they keep you warm in the winter nights. Enjoy your dog and mabe he will learn not to jump on your mum, dad, and bro's bed, try to teach him that.
Good luck

I actual have a one hundred ten lbs yellow Lab who sleeps in mattress with me in view that he became 7 weeks previous. i might have it no incorrect way, and he has no habit problems and is amazingly nicely experienced. He knows that the mattress in my room and the basement settee are the only products of furnishings he's permitted on. He by no ability gets on the focused visitor beds, nor the settee interior the television room or any of the 5 products of furnishings interior the lounge. by guidance his knows the place he can and may be able to no longer bypass and there at the instant are not any problems. My mothers Pit Bull is a similar way. in view that he became a domestic dog he became allowed interior the mattress yet no longer on the different furnishings. all of it comes all the way down to guidance, and your possibilities. I actual have owned many canines from Akitas to Rottweilers, GSDs, to farm animals canines and all had a similar policies and not one had habit problems. no longer one ever had an twist of destiny interior the mattress or abode, and that's over 25 years of canines and approximately 40 distinctive canines. the only canines I by no ability allowed interior the mattress have been foster canines basically using fact i did no longer understand what their new proprietors favored.

My smaller dogs always slept with me. Some even under the covers. Well, they were cold. Now I have a yellow lab and NO she would take up the whole bed. She has her own dog bed on the floor beside my bed.

Two of the three sleep with us (my husband and I) off and on.
Benson sleeps between our heads, with his head on our pillows, when we first go to bed. Sometimes, he will get up and leave during the middle of the night.
Dio sleeps between our feet with his head resting on my ankle. He has done this since we adopted him at four months (he's three now).
Shadow will jump into bed with us from time to time, but she doesn't sleep or stay with us for very long.
We think she's afraid of the dark and the upstairs is too dark for her, so she's usually down stairs laying in the recliner.

Ginger usually sleeps at the foot of my bed, or under my bed. Usually she only sleeps in the bed if there is no one home. We don't prohibit her; she just has more room to roll around a bit on the floor.

I don't think I have a choice they outweigh me. I can make mine move if I am uncomfortable but my foster Baxter is another story. His 120lbs won't budge. I have to get out of bed go to the bathroom run and jump over him to get enough room before he gets in. Hes a big ole lover whiney baby and has been through so much and always comes back to me. I may have to keep him. He just recently ended up in the hospital to remove a bathing suit top out of his belly. His big butts been with me two much after every trauma can I keep a sixth??

No.
I don't want them to stink up the sheets. On top of that they take up more room on the bed and I hate having to roll over to find a dog wedged somewhere! It is best for everyone involved if they are crated at night.

Both our dogs sleep with either me or my kids. And the biggest one is about 85 lbs. I just change the linens frequently. But they know they're not allowed on the beds when they are wet or dirty. They know to give me their paw (so I can see if it's wet or muddy) before they climb up! I love my dogs and need them as much as they need me! (Besides, they keep me warm on cold nights!)

Not generally. One of the dogs sometimes sleeps with me or my son but the other two sleep in their crates. One of them does not sleep well out of her crate at night. If she's startled from her sleep she comes up barking and snarly and if she's startled from her sleep while in bed with someone she sometimes snaps at the person she perceives to be the problem.
