My friend brandon is always on time for everything he calls when he says he will he comes over when he says he's going to. but he said he was going to call one day and he forgot to and he called back the next day and said sorry. and i was really sick and he was there with me and he left and he called the next day and said i didnt want you to think i was pushing you away.

Tell him you like him a lot, and you want to be his friend. (not knowing how old you both are.. you seem young teens, if that.) You seem right for each other, at least from the limited info here.

I agree with the other guy here - just because he's doing the right thing and being courteous doesn't mean he's scared - just means he is considerate and caring.
