The introduction of silicone hydrogel contact lenses, which allow for increased levels of oxygen to reach the cornea, has resulted in a resurgence of extended wear contact lenses that can be worn overnight. Many believe sleeping while wearing these types of contacts is safe but there is an increased risk of infection in those who sleep while wearing contact lenses. This even applies to contact lenses approved for extended wear. While there are some contact lenses which are approved for use for 30 days, your eye care provider may recommend a shorter wearing schedule. Following these recommendations can help to maintain overall eye health.

You can, but it doesnt let your eyes breathe. Therefore, it can harm your eyes. But if you buy the night & day breathable contact lenses, you can wear them up to 24 hours a day for up to 30 days and nights - even during sleep.

U're not suppose to but some people do it anyway. I used to when I was younger and first started wearing contacts. Then I found out that my eyesight was getting worse, but I wasn't letting my eyes rest and get oxygen. So now, I make sure to take them out before I go to bed every night. MY eye sight has improved slighty since I've been doing that.

of course NO!!!! It will get irritated and dehydrating the water level of your eyes. In long terms, your eyes will get infected easily as the contact lenses are not cleaned.

My sister took a 4 hour nap and the touch scratched her cornea, that's extremely painful. the place i, on the different hand, left mine in for approximately 7 months with out taking them out. and that i finished up getting corneal ulcers-additionally very painful. i replaced into on the wellbeing facility for a week doing painful tests. so each and every person would be distinctive in the failings that ought to take place to their eyes. It took my sister 4 hours and me 7 months. So actually i dont think of it helped any by taking them out precise after your nap. when you consider that for the time of your nap is whilst your contacts arent getting any oxygen.

Yeah, but you will have an awful headache when you wake up and your eyes will probably ache a little. Generally not a wise move. No idea what damage it'll actually do to your eyes but it's probably not good.

No. Always take them out before you go to bed. It can damage your eyesight and even make you go blind if they are colored contacts. Just to be sure your eyesight doesn't get damaged, always remove them. There's no reason to keep them in.
