186,000 miles per second, and some of the stars we see in the sky at night are millions of lightyears away, how is it even remotely possible that everything we see is only 6,000 years old according to some theologians?

How old is the knowledge you are citing?

How long has Humanity had moral Knowledge?

How long has Humanity had conductive knowledge meaning we could pass it around by speaking it, and how long have there been enough educated people as for the knowledge as communicated to have any value?

6,000 years old is all we need to study, to study ourselves and our characters, and how, and what, we are....what we arose from? (go read my latest blog entry) 'empty space'

Six thousand years ago humanities first persons ate of the Fruit of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, (Notice NO Apple) hummmm a mind thing, spiritual knowledge, introducing God, the Father-Creator.

What's difficult to believe about that?

it is not remotely possible. This in fact is one of the reasons true Christians who adhere to the Bible do not teach that the earth is only six thousand years old. To illustrate in harmony with your point, light from the Andromeda nebula can be seen on a clear night in the northern hemisphere. Traveling at 186,000 miles per second, as you rightly pointed out, it takes that light about 2,000,000 years to reach us. This alone indicates that the universe must be at least millions of years old.

The Genesis account does not teach that the earth or the universe is only 6,000 years old. Genesis 1:1 simply states: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." There is no mention here of when. This allows for the universe to be billions of years old. With verse two, the account describes the preparation of earth for habitation - the preparation - not the creation.

it's not. and that funny number 6000 pops up everywhere.

I wonder if all Bible critics are so illiterate they can't even read two short sentences from the Bible.

Tell me where that number appears in the following phase, and tell me when is indicated by those two phrases!

(Darby) Gen 1:1, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2And the earth was waste and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep
(DRC) Micah 5:2, . . . from the beginning, from the days of eternity. . .

Darkness was on the face of the deep, according to the Bible, meaning that something was here before the actual creation. Also the Bible tells us that a day in the eyes of God is like a thousand years. Why not a million years or a billion?
There was no light in the beginning. So, no way to judge a 24 hr. day. God's time isn't the same as ours.

What are you doing asking creationists about science? They just invent bs like light travelled faster back then, or god created the light on the way.

The same question has been asked before and the principle is correct. Religion is archaic and almost totally bullsh!t.

There are those, however, who live in the past, more correcty named Fantasy-Land.

I asked the same question. Get this, he not only created the entire universe, but he put all the photons in the right place so that at 'go time' the lights would be all twinkly for us.

those are the same people who think Harry Potter and Santa are Satan. Look, take it with a grain of salt. Religion is strong enough to defy logic.

It isn't... The data conflicts.

THOSE theologians claim the scientists are lying... even when it is demonstrated that they are not.

The theologians are complete idiots.... simple as that.
