I just adopted a female patagonian conure, who is obviously a "man's" bird. She has taken a liking immediately to my fiance', but she bites at me when I touch her, unless HE hands her to me. Is there any way I can remedy this? Ive owned birds my entire life, but Ive never been disliked by one before. what do i do?

Last year we had a Umbrella Cockatoo. it was also a 'man's bird'. everytime a woman came near him, even to feed him, he'd bite! he was happy with a man. since you adopted him you probably dont know too much about his last household. the Cockatoo we had came from a male owner that died. never been away from him. after a long while of getting bit and working with him everyday, talking to him, giving him treats, the Cockatoo finally came to me. without biting. it will take awhile to make him get used to you. oh, and also, birds sense when a female has 'their time of the month". watch out cuz the birds can get nasty and bite.

regrettably, you won't have the ability to ever make your poultry by no ability scream because it rather is a organic intuition for them to scream (extremely interior the morning and at night whilst they greet the daybreak and phone to others that it is nightfall). additionally, birds are extra vocal interior the spring time because it is going to become mating season. the fall has a similar daytime of the spring so they are able to be extra vocal then too. the only factor you're able to do is to no longer toughen the screaming. you're surprising approximately no longer yelling at him, it rather is only giving him interest for his adverse habit. only do no longer react to any form of adverse habit your poultry provides. he will learn he gets no form of reward, reaction, etc from his movements and could ultimately no longer yell for interest.

It will take awhile but eventually she will learn to accept you but will always like men best. Having your fiance repeatedly handing her to you will help speed the process
