i use to smoke but now iam not interested but cant quit as i feel very uncomfortable please tell me how to stop smoking.

I think for starters you will need to accept the fact that you will feel quite uncomfortable during the process. Get into the mindset that you will be able to get through any temporary disomfort. I quit cold turkey, and it was VERY hard for a short time. Just keep telling yourself that you are not giving yourself a choice. You ARE quitting, and you will deal with the feelings that come with craving nicotine. It gets easier as hours and days pass, I promise! Many times people who begin a new exercise program will have more sucess in quitting. Kind of like an all over better health plan! Get excited about becoming healthy. Plus, exercising seems to burn off some of those nicotine cravings! lol
Get rid of any ashtrays in your house, burn some scented candles, open a window to let in a fresh breeze, make your house smell fresh. This is how it will smell from now on if you're not smoking in it!
I think this is especially helpful for women, but also using perfume or cologne, scented lotion, great smelling shampoo, extra minty mouthwash- make yourself smell fantastic, and not like an ashtray.
I have also read that it is good to not undertake anything especially stressful for the first week or two you quit. This is often easier said then done, but I think an example would be-don't go on vacation with planes to catch, and deadlines to make, or don't begin anyything new that requires you to compete or make difficult dicisions.
I tried nicotine gum in a previous attempt to quit smoking, and it did help to feel like I had a crutch. I did go back to smoking though.
If you go cold turkey you may be worried about gaining weight like many do. I say, who cares? A few extra pounds is easier to get rid of then this nicotine habit! lol

Theres a few over the counter quit smoking aids like nicorette gum...even comes in different flavors now. Or try chewing on cinnamon sticks whenever you get the urge ...Good Luck~!

I went to a hypnotist Feb 28, 2006. Haven't smoked since. i KNEW I couldn't do cold turkey. I was also amazingly bored with it. only smoked half a cig at a time cause it was soo nasty! GOOD LUCK YOU CAN DO IT

find something to do whenever you feel like smoking, get a hobby and take it one day at a time if you start cutting out one cigie a day and increase as you go you will get there...good luck and dont give up

when u feel like smoking go for a walk...a brisk walk..that would help you and stop the urge of smoking

Cold turkey. Of course it's gonna feel uncomfortable, you have an addiction.

Put your mind to it, and you can quit...I know!!!

Check with your doctor, there is a new drug out that is suppose to be great. All I know is it starts with a C
