It's part of a pattern of the conservative ruling class controlling the conservative underclasses with lies. Exxon wants bubba not to pressure them to do their part to stop global warmings causes, so they portray the scientific community as far left loonies. Lies, as I say. But bubba always believes 'em.

You sure use a lot of generality's. Some scientists do not believe that global warming is actually happening. Some scientists think that global warming is a natural process which has happened before. Some scientists believe that this period of warmth will be followed by another ice age. This is the reason I have a problem with global warming. Exxon's position has absolutely nothing to do with it. If all the scientists said that we were having global warming and it was totally caused by man I would have no problem believing it, but as of right now their opinions are all over the place. Even the scientists who say the planet is getting warmer do not agree on why. If the experts cannot agree why should we.

Actually the data says we are well within the means and the climate change is cyclical

Most of the climate community has agreed since 1988 that global mean temperatures have increased on the order of one degree Fahrenheit over the past century, having risen significantly from about 1919 to 1940, decreased between 1940 and the early '70s, increased again until the '90s, and remaining essentially flat since 1998.

Nobody is denying that there is climate change or "global warming" on the earth. But it remains unproven and at this point, unlikely that man is the sole cause of it. Man only accounts for 4% of C02 emissions. Mt. St. Helen's is far more a pollutant than all the factories combined, which explains why there have been previous ice cap melting and "ice ages". Why should we spend billions of dollars on something that is unproven and currently being used for political gain?

Exxon is not the GOP and the GOP does acknowledge global warming. In fact we also acknowledge it has been going on for 5 Billion years! And that all the Glaciers on earth have been receding since 1750! And that if we stopped the Use of oil tomorrow only the worlds poor wood be affected killing several Hundred Million Africans and South Americans and Asians.

Global Warming non existing? Hahaha, funny statement by Exxon. All I know about this is that we actually had a way to stop global warming back in 1999. Unfortunately it was no taken too seriously, nowadays it can not be stopped. If this Government decides to ratify the Kyoto Protocol along with other governments we can slow it down by reducing the O2 emissions to the atmosphere. I'm actually majoring at Environmental Engineering right now. I can not really add anything more because is not my own knowledge yet and I would have to cite my books and teachers but I do know that this has to be reduced immediately.

NON Republican here, but conservative none the less. With icecap size INCREASING, and the average temp up a whopping 1.3 degrees since we began keeping records, I am hard pressed to see that as anything but amazingly stable. El Nino raised temps in the recent past by itself, and Mt Saint Helens punched more gasses and pollutants into the atmosphere with one eruption than all of the pollutants man has ever produced. I know that the Left really wants everyone to believe it, but the evidence is just not compelling, no matter how loudly people sceam that it is. What we have here is a difference of OPINION, and nothing more.
