I can not play these downloaded files with any of the available players on my computer. Realplayer, Windows Media Player, Creative, Winamp etc..

You cannot PLAY rar. That's format like zip, for compression. You have to unrar first and then you can see what's inside (music, pics, etc.). Get Winrar or some other application that can open rar format.
