Ok the rules of a magic square are that the rows and columns add to the same number:

What number these add to doesn't really matter, so lets choose 0 for simplicity:

Now attack the rows and columns that only have one unknown first: like c and d for example:

d: d+ 0.62 + 0.27 = 0 d = -0.89
c: 0.62 + c + 0.75 = 0 c = -1.37

Unfortunately now we are stuck with equations that can't be isolated for one single variable. The remaining 4 equations are:
0.27 + a + b = 0
a - 1.37 + e = 0
-0.89 + e + x = 0
b + 0.75 + x = 0

This can be solved in various ways: Using matrices and a calculator. By substitution, or by eliminating variables by using linear combinations of the equations:

If we use substitution of a in the 2nd equation, we find a = 1.37 - e. Replacing this into the other three equations yields:
1.64 - e + b = 0
-0.89 + e + x = 0
b + 0.75 + x = 0

Now lets solve for x in the 2nd of the remaining 3 equations:
x = e - 0.89

The remaining 2 equations are:
1.64 - e + b = 0
b + e - 0.14 = 0

b - e = -1.64
b + e = 0.14
2b = -1.5...b = -0.75

So... -0.75 + e = 0.14
e = 0.89

now we have enough info to find x:

b + 0.75 + x = 0

x = 0

also a = 0.48

I can only add that despite my best efforts, I have failed to find a solution where the diagonals also add up to the correct total.
