I used to think that too, but now that I am older I realized some things. Girls are smart and able to work in the inbetween of social situations whereas boys are socially disconnected unless people give them a great deal of attention. Boys need the social stimulation to keep growing in a connected sense, or they will isolate themselves. They need more push to get past what they perceive as limitations. Girls are challenged in a different way.

When I teach, I have to push the boys to excel, while the girls who use their minds well, don't even need a nudge. Girls who are shy do better with quiet encouragement. Boys who are shy do better with the right kind of challenges. I'm not talking about embarassing anyone either. Girls network, get strength from people and from prayer. Boys rely on their own wits, and need to be coached to be dependable, to relate to others and to pray. It's the difference between push and pull.

If you are envious, you will lose the ability to observe things objectively and make wise choices for yourself. Keep good and faithful eyes.

I don't know why your parents would treat you differently than your brother. I do know it's wrong and unfair to both of you.
I have 4 children, I love them equally and make sure I give to them equally.
Good Luck.
