I have seen this myslef by putting turmeric in the way of an ant that was traveling. The ant just turned its way back after coming close to the turmeric.
Why is it like this???

Its spicy so they hate treading on it. Its like walking on hot coals, i suppose.

Ants leave a scent when they travel and the ants basically travel back across the scent to get to where they started - they will travel around obstacles, that were not originally in the scent path. What made you think that ants would be afraid of turmeric powder in the first place? Anyways, hope this helps - God Bless You!!!

Ants become a nuisance when they enter homes. Instead of spending money on costly pest control, you can get rid of ants by removing the food source and using soap water.

as far as i know turmeric is bitter n ants taste every new thing so they move away.

Ants move by scents on the floor. Since u disrupt its trail, it will not have any choice but to move back

Turmeric is a natural antiseptic. I wonder if that has anything to with it.
