Do the other people object? Licking is a submissive gesture to say ' I'm OK, I don't mean any harm' which is why dogs do it, I personally don't have a problem with my dogs doing it to me but I don try to prevent them from licking other people unless those people don't mind.

how about starting saying no! STOP IT!! and keep on leash when you want people not getting licked its a matter of teaching the dog not to do it, it was easy with mine that eay trouble is now he licks only me and noone else!!
