i already have a lovely jack russell x staffie bull that we rescued and i had terrible allergies with my nose and skin when we first had him, thankfully he doesn't make me sneeze as much now i am use to him but my skin still suffers terribly, so i really don't wanna get another dog that affects me in the way, so does anyone have any ideas?

I have, amongst others, a Bedlington Terrier. They do not shed at all and have very soft fur. Some people think they look like lambs, they are very cute!
Having said that, they are tough little creatures, originally used for hunting. My dog is 15, completely blind and deaf yet still holds her own against an Old English and 2 Rottweilers.
Downside is they need clipping regularly (though some people wouldnt think that a down side) and their ears and feet need plucking or they can get some nasty health probs (ears especially is VERY important).
Whatever you choose, good luck.

Australian Silkie Terriers don't shed, have long hair and engaging personalities. Even people with asthma seem to be able to share a home with them. Have you ever used AllerPet shampoo? Can be found in most pet supply stores and they make formulas for both dogs and cats. As you know, it is usually the dander which provokes the allergies, and if you bathe your pet every two weeks, your reactions will lessen. Might try that with your Jack Russell/Staffordshire cross as well.

Generally, dogs with shorter hair tend to shed more and affect people with allergies. Try a longer haired dog, like a long haired dachsund. The only draw back to this is that you'll have to groom the dog pretty often to keep the hair from knotting and matting. Best of luck!

Poodles don't shed, you have them clipped once a month. You can also bath your dog once a month, just use baby bath and rinse & dry properly. That cuts down on the dust. Get someone else to comb the dog every day, than finish with a damp cloth. You might be better off with a very short coated dog that can easily be groomed with a damp cloth, like a greyhound.

I would recommend a Portuguese water dog. I have a severe dog allergy but have kept Portie's for many years. They are great family dogs with bags of personality, but can be a little lively and need quite a lot of exercise. I find them very loyal and obedient.

I saw a program that said Poodles were excellent dogs for people who have allergies and are very intelligent, loves the owner and is very faithful.

Here's a list of hypoallergenic dogs but you need to be aware that not all breeds suit everyone - find a breed you like & spend a good few hours with a number of the breed to see if you have a reaction:

Miniature Schnauzers are a good option for allergy sufferers, so are Poodles.

Good luck in your search.

Well... you could always get a hairless kind of dog or a kind of dog with very short, or you could shave a dog. not to be inhumane or anything, but this is all I could think of. I don't own a dog. more of a cat person myself.

I heard that poodles were good for allergy sufferers, however don’t take my word on it.
