a leader in the Southern Baptist Convention said that "while there may be scientific evidence to show that homosexuality is biological in origin, that still does not null the fact that it is a sin". he spoke of looking into genetic therapy to "cure" homosexual fetuses, so that they would be born "completely heterosexual". how is this not hypocritical, when in the same breath they talk of the sanctity of human life, and of saying that God would not allow a child to be born w/a condition that is considered a sin?

He's 100% wrong! Homosexuality is NOT nor never has been genetic, or God would not have clearly condemned it as He has in scriptures! Though all sin produces physical diseases and abnormalities if continued in, the only thing that can render it, or any sin dead is to deny the flesh and feed The Spirit! Also called, Submitting yourself to God, Resisting(to do the opposite) the devil, and he will flee from you, Draw Near to God, and He will Draw near to you..Trust in The Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight, and give you the desires of your heart, because now they will line up with His will for your life! All sin must be put down by Grace through faith in Christ Jesus the redeemer of all who receive, and believe by His Holy Spirit. Those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. And The Spirit leads and guides us into all Truth as we hide His Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him, if we sin we have an advocate with The Father, Christ Jesus Our Lord who ever lives to make Intercession on our behalf, and The blood of His Son cleanses us as we confess our sins, repent(change our minds and actions) and begin again, His mercies are new every morning!! And His love is everlasting!!

Do you have any sources? I grew up in a Southern Baptist home, so this sort of thing interests me. As far as where it leaves the Southern Baptist Church, well, it means the Southern Baptist Church, as a convention, is crazy and stupid. What else is new?

That does not affect Southern Baptist theology in the slightest. It was one man, espousing his own personal opinion, which others disagree with.
Whatver this man thinks,it's important to uphold the sanctity of *all* life.
