Kids on busses?

Why don't they bring back bus conductors?
Travelling on a bus full of schoolkids is a nightmare. The swearing, pushing past people and general lack of respect is a real problem to other passengers. The bus driver understandably is too busy driving the bus to do anything, and even if he did, what could he do? He needs backup.

Pierre - that's a bit harsh! But I wouldn't object to them being put off the bus if they don't have!

But the parents aren't on the bus to discipline their kids! That's the point!

They should have guards with stun guns and if a kid even looks mischievous, stun him till hes on the ground crying for mummy.

My Father In-Law was a school bus driver after he retired as a chief gunny and took up mule plowing in Arkansas. Yes,
he would warn the kiddy crews of what happens to a loose cannon, and his salty air improved vocabulary. Yes, he did leave the out of sorts at roadside, but these were rural types
who knew where all the homes were that had a telephone.
I even once was ejected from a rural school bus and walked
home five miles over crop stubble. A cold winter day.
Bus conductors? Naw. It is cheaper and faster for a driver
to dump bad seed. If they behave, they ride. If they don't behave, they get put off. Stop rudeness cold. By example.

I agree with kavekarst it's just to bad if a bus driver did that today he would go to jail for 5 to 10.

It is just a general lack of concern and respect for others today, and it will get worse until parents have the authority and the will to discipline their children.
