What's actually dangerous is "highway hypnosis". I also don't recommend following tractor-trailers. They commonly throw retread tires, and a strip can go through your windshield before you even see it coming. Check out the link below for the definition of Highway Hypnosis.

I can tell you from experience. It's really called target fixation.
I was following a semi truck on a very long and very straight road. I was going just a little faster than him so I kept my eyes on the back of the trailer. Closer and closer I got and finally right before I plowed into the back of him, a passenger grabbed the wheel and yanked it to put me in the other lane. I woke up immediately, and was all right after that. I hypnotized myself, just by concentrating so hard on the back of the truck, I almost ran smack dead into the back of him on a super straight interstate.

I don't think there is any danger in this at all. However I usually drive faster than other vehicles and tend not to stay behind them for any noticable amount of time :)

I have been driving for a long time and did not know it was not good to fallow the same car does that mean I should pull off and fallow some one eles?

Cause you be come complacit and its sorta like the old hypnotizeing trick it just luls you to sleep best to change lanes no to often and look around to keep alert.

They may think your a stalker and you may get your a*s*s kicked at the next rest area , its just not kool
