I have just bought a memoryfoam pillow for £15. It is shaped with an indent to support your neck - the reason I bought it is I suffer with nerve/muscular problems in my neck. I normally take medication for this but have had to stop the painkillers as I am pregnant. I tried lying on the pillow last night but it was hard and uncomfortable? Anyone had this same problem? Any other ideas I can try?

Well, the problem I have had with it is that one pillow is just too low for me. I placed a feather pillow beneath it and after a couple of nights it seemed to become more comfortable. I think you just have to persevere to see what works as they do make a difference to your neck problem.

I have those pillows and i actually found that after the first night i got used to them and they are very comfortable. I have back and neck problems and have the mattress too, it's the best night sleep i have ever had. I say give it a few days and if it's not for you sell them on.

I bought a pair of the memory foam pillows, neither my husband or myself liked them and we threw them away, waste of money, gone back to the duck feathers ones a lot more comfortable. I really cant understand how anyone can sleep on them they are so uncomfortable.

I've not tried actual memory foam but I have talked to others who have and the thoughts about memory foam as to good and bad are pretty even.

As for other ideas, I would recommend talking to your Pain Management dr to see what they suggest for treating the pain issue since you are pregnant. They can work with your OB/GYN to figure out a combination to help you with your pain so that your baby isn't affected.

I tried memory pillows and so far this hasn't helped me either.
The only thing that works for me is massage. Also take a relaxing bath before you go to bed.

I spent £20 on one and its a complete waste of money, as you say its hard and uncomfortable.
I have an ordinary pillow over the top of mine, which helps. It does releive pressure though.

You just have to get used to it - it will take a couple of nights. They are very good at encouraging you to sleep on your back. I've had one for years.
