I believe the USA is under siege by illegal aliens. With it's open border to the south, the rapid growth of illegals is apparant in almost every city in the country. The USA now has a rapidly growing culture of Hispanics everywhere!

The immigration rules are designed to preclude any one culture from taking over as is being experienced. Unfortunately, this rule of law is not being enforced enough. Result is the USA is being taken over by Mexico.

I believe one way to fix this is to make it a felony to hire an illegal alien and aggressively enforce this law. But what do you think is best?

How can this be fixed?

Deport them all. Landmine fields (not a fence) at the borders. Send illegal employers to jail for slavery. Enforce the laws that are already on the books. Stop being wusses about it, just pick them up, cuff them, take them to the border, literally kick them out. The illegals must take their kids with them too, and change the 14th amendment to end auto-citizenship to children of illegals.

It is a complex problem around the globe!!
Europenas countries are being populated by Asians, Middle Easterns, ex URSS people, etc..
The problem in the US is just a consequence of global economy.
To start working on this the government should stop being or wanting to be blind!
Stop using these people and yes, fine the employers who hired them becuase they did not respect their own laws in the first place. They don;t do it becuase they know they can get cheaper labor and put more money in their pockets...plain and simple!

Poeple around the globe has the right to look for better opportunities, people who didn't have the fortune to be born in a rich nation, but do it legaly.

Unfortunately that is impossible for some poeple with good will...and instead what do we do? keep using and abusing others, and allow people with other intentions to enter the US.

This system has to change not only in the US but also overseas where people want to apply for visas legally; check their background, criminal records, etc and decide whether that person should be allowed in the US.

I see it in my work, we can not deny that there are qualified professionals or people with hard working hands that we need in this country. So in order to allow the people who we really need/want the government should do a complete background check and send people who don't pass the test back. Secure the borders (BOTH) and watch the seas....

Well this is a mayor problem, not only in the south border, but also from the west, east and north. The problem is not the U.S. so much, the problem is that the other countries are lacking to provide better quality of lives to their people. I keep on noticing all the remarks towards our south border, Mexico. If we really look at it, the asian immigration is much stronger and in some cases very sad. Illegal asian immigrants end up working as slaves in sweat shops, I've seen them. Mexicans and other latinos end up working at restaurants, washing cars, construccion. I understand that California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas used to be from Mexico and that the US military took that over by force. Looking at it is not really that they are coming over, they are returning. However, since this is the US now, we could profit from that. Have a reform that would give social security to those that are hard working immigrants as long as they pay taxes each year with no criminal record in order to qualify. By getting serious working people into our social security system it will prevent it from collapsing in the first place like it's been said it is because there are more people retiring than they are working to support the system. Also, we could charge them for every time they send money to their countries like it's already happening I think and maybe have that reform that would give them legal residency as long as they enlist in the army and that are actually capable, meaning no disable people. With that we would for sure decrease the illegal immigration and at the same time profit and benefiting the country.

I am a 3rd generation legal immigrant (born here by 3 generations) and some of the answers I seen here are absurd and immoral thinking. This is an illegal invasion of our country, and HELL NO< they should not be made legal and allowed to stay ! As you can see by their march, and putting the mexican flag over the american one that they simply want to take over by peacefully just coming here, and working their way into our system, yet many dont even know english, I say round them up and deport all the illegals, forcing them to have to apply here, protect our borders, our people and our right to live the way we always have. These illegal immigrants get paid to sneak terrorists into our country !! This puts their people in danger as well, but they are to greedy to see this, I could go on forever, and yes it can be fixed by enforcing current laws, making a few new ones, I disagree with the minefield, a good fence would work as well, as long as you have cameras on it to stop those with ropes and climbing it anyway !! I have been personally told this was a reconquista, of the whole country, not just what america took by an illegal mexican who thought it okay to have an illegal gun. Only we can stop it, our government fails us all the time, they are just as greedy as the illegals are !! Cant change their own country, but want to RUIN ours instead !! Im sure some of them are peaceful and just want a better life, but they need to change their own countries first, and stop bringing illegal drugs in, I say build a fence on both borders !! screen anyone and everyone that wants to come here strictly by background checks, etc. Like they do if you were to work in a nuke plant !! Dont just let them come and send money to mexico for free, all that does is break america financially, and hell no dont make them all legal, make them go home, and do it LEGALLY as all ancestors of ours had to !! Ps, the INDIANS were NOT originally from America either !!!

Enforcing the laws already in place and strengthening/empowering the border patrol are only a beginning. We as Americans need to step up to the plate and demand our government defend our sovereignty. And yes, we need to make it a felony to hire or harbor illegals.

Well, the best way to eliminate illegal aliens would be to make ALL of them legal. There would be no illegal aliens if there's no such thing as illegal alien to begin with.

As for a sudden influx of immigrant workers.

There's a few primary reasons on why immigrant workers came, they are labors laws and underpopulation.

Labors laws cause less people that can be employed legally and less people that can be employers legally.

The United States of America also is currently underpopulated, around 3,5 millions of square miles populated with around 300 millions people is definetly a sign of underpopulation. As a note, even China with its 1 billion population is too currently underpopulated.

Eliminate labors laws and underpopulation, then you will see less immigrant workers.

As for cultural warfare.

Well, it's best to let a primary culture as the basic culture for a community, it will happened on its own.

The problem is that in the past decades or even half century, the United States of America along with the rest of the world are told to mix with each other, this resulted in constant warfare among cultures.

It cannot be" fixed" and it is not a problem unique to the USA. Europe is having mass migrations from Asia, Africa and within. It is a natural occurrence of the globalized economy. When goods, services, capital, information move around the world labor also does, legally or illegally. Mass migrations occured in history many times, the last one was in the beginning of the 20th century. It all works out in the end. Not to worry. When you think about it we are all "illegal" immigrants in this country. We did not ask permission from the Indians.

Make it a crime to hire an [illegal] alien. Make it a "specific" crime to be here illegally.

They don't have to even be felonies. A misdemeanor would be fine, that would give local law enforcement the capability of doing their own raids, and arrests.

Well, Archie you can start by downloading form 3949A and fill that out, make a copy and send it back by Certified Mail. This form allows them to investigate employers that hire them. They are fined $1,000.00 and you recieve a 10% Reward.

Organize a March on Washington and send protest letters and phone calls! Have fun!
