I see on peoples profiles a lot under religion: christian.

What does that mean? Does that mean you go to church every sunday? Or that you believe in Jesus, and his magic? And ghosts and spirits and demons?

Although most think a Christian is someone who believes that Jesus Christ existed and that he died for our sin (which is true) that does not make them a Christian.

When someone tells me they are a Christian, I want know if they mean Christian...the religion which the above describes...or Christian the relationship which the links below describe.

Christian means a believer in Jesus Christ. The group of people who believe Jesus Christ. You will not be called christian if you do not believe Jesus Christ and do not follow his teachings on the New Testament.
When you go to the Church every Sunday, you are devoted catholic but not devoted Christian.

We believe Jesus Christ and we do not believe that He has magic. His words in the bible are the truth.

A ghost is done by the evil spirit to entice men from doing bad things, like you do now.

Beware you may be pick by the demon as the best questioner in this corner.

Jesus represents an ideology, as best shown in the parables, if you know anything about the New testament. Someone who chooses to identify with this way of thinking would technically be following his teachings. People who choose to believe that the New Testament is more or less accurate would call themselves Christian. However, there are many differences within this sphere of Christianity. Some choose to follow the man's teachings of morallity, while others choose to align themselves with the other details, such as the prophetic side, being the son of god and so forth. Some, unfortunately, preach his teachings, and do not follow them. This makes them hypocrites.
However, to say that Christianity is the only faith to do so is ridiculous. Muslim extremists are doing the same thing; picking and choosing which of the Islamic teachings they wish to follow. They are also hypocrites.
These two examples of religion are not the only ones either, but are the two that have seemed to reach a new high for resentment of each other.
My personal opinion, every religion has something to offer humanity, and to disregard all but your own, or lack thereof (aetheist), leaves you very narrow-minded.
That's my two cents for ya.

Its not easy to explain what CHRISTIAN means. Many people say they are christian but did not obey the true Christian doctrine. You may ask what is Christian doctrine? It is the whole teaching of Christ Jesus. For example Jesus said "when you pray use not vain repetitions like gentiles do" but think, many people are doing this! Christ said "call no man your father upon the earth:for one is your Father, which is in heaven". There are religion who are deliberately disobeying this teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and they called themselves christians..There are some says "god is everywhere" but you cannot actually find this verse in the bible. But you can do read this verse in the bible Matthew24:24 "for there shall arise false christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders;... and they shall deceive the very elect(chosen).7;15"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves".This are samples of guidelines from GOD that we should take seriously. If you want to become true Christian don't just read the bible. Try to understand what Jesus teach us. In Revelation 1;3 it says "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein:". it's not simple to be a Christian there are some things we should sacrifice, denying ourselves and obey the commandments of Christ. Matthew28:19-20 it reads "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you:and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen". You can visit the website www.angdatingdaan.org this website will help us to be enlightened.

Christians are people who believe Jesus as their saviour. I am not a christian. So I think they go to church in Uae every Friday. They believe Jesus is there and he saves everybody under different circumstances.

Christ in Me. Christians believe that Jesus died for their sins and that they will enter into heaven because Jesus paid the price for our sins and he is our personal Savior. We live by the 10 commandments. We die knowing that death has lost it's sting. If you think that Christianity is magic you are sadly mistaken. Read the book "The Signature of God" you will understand then.
