On March 16, 1945, during World War II, Iwo Jima was declared secured by the Allies.

Is the cycle of war still going on and will there ever be peace on the earth...?

When and/or how will the madness end....?

When there is an enemy that has declared war on us, and there presently is such an enemy, which is being fought around the world but most noticeably in Afghanistan and Iraq, and we may have to fight them elsewhere later....

...then we must choose sides. Refusing to make a choice is a choice to let yourself be killed by those who want to kill you. Some of your neighbors might object to this, and choose to fight. Will you forbid them their choice?

Our present enemy has been carrying out war against us since at the lateset 1979. They declared war in 1996. This is not "Bush's War", but a long war that can only be shortened by taking the battle to the enemy.

Good question...but unfortunately...no good answer.

People throughout the World, way before the death of Jesus,
there has been and still is turmoil.

Peace is a very elusive thing. All you have to do is read some of the answers on this site...many people are full of hate.

The madness will probably never end without some help from a higher source.

My best guess is that Iran will become another problem for those that want some degree of peace!

You mentioned Iwo Jima, few will remember those that put up the American Flag.

It brought back a memory: "Poor old Ira Hayes...he don't live here anymore..." I think it was a song sung by Johnny Cash.

Sorry for the rambling!

The madness will never end. What the Federal Government does not want to tell you is if we are not in a conflict with another country for a period of eight years everyday people will not have to pay taxes. It has been put into our constitution as a clause by Theodore Roosevelt. The only ones that would have to pay taxes would be merchants. However the U.S. knows that some people know about this clause because it was never annouced that it had been written and if the U.S. citizens would ever find out then they would have to actually abide by this clause. Why do you think that the U.S. has not been without a conflict of some sort for a period over eight years.

I hate it when the question is not worthy enough for attention.
History is written by the winners. March 16, 1945, and here
you are. Millions died in that war and American survivors are honored today but you want more peace? The only peace our lives get is the grave and if I were you I'd be less hasty about digging your own. Like I said, winners write it, and if
you don't want to speak another language in your lifetime now is a good time to learn some soldiering. Be worthy.

When war stops then man would have become perfect. Why do we have divorces? Humans want to have things their own way all the time. Humans want to amass wealth at the expense of others. If the air we breathe could be harnessed, some tough guys would have bought it all up!

I believe that the human specis would become perfect. So war will end someday... we must be optimistic.

It is in the Nature that cycles occur. Peace cannot last long, nor can wars be unending. We have to live with and amidst both war and peace. That's the Natural Law. Neither Science nor Wisdom can defy this Law and succeed.

Never any peace. Look at the history of the nations on earth. No peace.

The madness will end when people are unable to get filthy rich from war and instability. Until that time, we are stuck with the most grim of human conditions.

There will never be peace on earth. Humans like to fight. It's part of our DNA. Those that didn't like to fight were slaughtered or subjugated in the past so their genes account for less of the gene pool.
