You can deny God if you want but if you do, the burden of proof is on you to give an answer to the question "why is there something rather than nothing"? It is not necessary that we exist and it's even less necessary that we exist as such complex beings. As I've said before in this forum, In your brain there are 100 billion neurons. Each one of those neurons(remember, there's 100 billion of them) is connected to 1000 other neurons. That comes out to 100 trillion connections in your brain. These connections send electronic signals(and you can measure the electricity) from one place to another. If part of the brain is damaged and you lose some function that is controlled by that part of the brain, the brain can actually re-wire itself and let other neurons in the undamaged part of the brain take over so that you can get back that function. That's only the connections in the brain, not the rest of the body.
Our bodies also have tons of information in the DNA. You have enough information in your DNA to fill encyclopedia sized books stacked from here to the moon and back 500 time. That is what scientist would call extreme specified complexity. It's also irreducibly complex so that it couldn't have evolved gradually. Our existence is not necessary. We could have just as easily not existed or the highest form of life on earth could have been an amoeba but even an amoeba is infinitely too complex to explain just by saying it came about by random chance luck(read....evolution).
Paly gave my argument(and he explained in a much simpler way than I have....but it's exactly the same argument) 300 years ago. Paly's argument of the 1700's still holds today. He said that if you are walking through a forest and you find a watch sitting upon a rock, you have 2 possible explanations: 1)It was designed and built by a watchmaker 2) It came about the same way the rock that it is sitting upon came about.....by random chance. Which explantion makes more sense? Remember, it's not necessary that the watch exists. But if it does exist, a watch has complexity(although one living cell is infinitely more complex than a watch) and a watch has design. Does not design demand a designer? The real question is not whether there is a God or not. The real question is which religion reveals Him. I say it's Christianity but that's another debate but it's a debate we all should look into. If it's true that God sent His only begotten Son to die for the sins of the world so that we could have eternal life and we just ignore the great price He paid for our
right to live eternally with Him, we will pay a price in eternity for trampling the blood of Christ under our feet through indifference and apathy.

I can appreciate what your saying but the opposite was true for me. I've always questioned and been encouraged to think for myself. I've investigated many different areas and come to the conclusion that Jesus and the God of the Bible make the most sense. I've been amazed at the number of times my conclusions have been re-enforced by archeology and science. Now I have a fulfilling realtionship with God that stimulates my mind.

I have always had the ability to think for myself regarding religion & have never left Islam, It doesnt matter how much research i do, Islam always comes out on top , it is always the religion that is truthful.
I think people that leave religion at the end when thier time is up they always regret it but hey its your choice to follow what ever you want.

REmember that all knowledge is illusion... though, I once shared your opinion... my Beloved is the Mystery.
Now, that is not 'ignorance' but rather an acceptance of knowing that I will never amass enough knowledge... The mind is a beast with a stomach like an abyss.

look at Western Europe. High education standards, high secularity. I don't assume causation but there is certainly correlation. Must be all those evil devil-worshiping atheist scientists!

It's true but then you realize that you can believe anything you want. You can define god for yourself and it can be anything. Whatever makes sense to you.
