Well, as Smitty says, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I, for one, beg to differ from your belief. In my point-of-view, The Ali-Fazier trilogy will forever be boxing's greatest. They were two of the greatest heavyweights, and two of the greatest fighters, for that matter. They gave it their all and they were part of the reason why boxing is what it is today. Above all, I think it's because of the entertainment value that they have produced.
There are no doubt other great trilogies. Some examples o these are: Gatti-Ward, Morales-Barrera, your personal favorite, McLarnin-Ross, etc. All these trilogies displayed what was the reason for creating sports to begin with; they displayed excitement and passion.

Sugar Ray Robinson and Jake LaMatta wasn't a trilogy. They fought 6 times.
Im gonna go with the greatest classic trilogy would be Ali-Frazier because they are 2 of the greatest heavyweights of all time and they fought during the golden era of heavyweight boxing. The other thing that i love about this trilogy is Frazier gave Ali his first loss even knocking him down in the last round. I love how Ali showed his ability to bounce back from a loss to defeat Frazier twice after that and the Thrilla in Manila is one of the greatest wars in the history of the heavyweight division.
The best recent trilogy and maybe the best of all time is Gatti-Ward. All three of their fights were action packed slug fests. They looked like scenes straight from a Rocky movie. Gatti being Rocky in number one and Ward being rocky in the 2nd and 3rd fight. Both men showed tremendous heart in all 3. There may never be a matchup like these 2 again and everytime they step in the ring together is guranteed to be great.
A runner up would be Riddick Bowe and Evander Holyfield where both men left parts of themselves in the ring in each of these fights. True Warriors.
And one is Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran where Sugar Ray was humiliated by not being able to beat Duran in the first bout where Duran disrespected Ray's Wife and family. Of course the classic 2nd fight where Duran uttered the words that will forever be remembered in boxing history, "No Mas".

There are many great trilogies. I have got to go with Ali/Frazier. The first fight was the most highly anticipated fight of the 20th century even more than the 2nd Louis/Schmeling fight. The 2nd fight wasn't that dull, I think it lost luster because it wasn't for the heavyweight championship. If you watch that fight Frazier was coming on in the later rounds, if that fight was championship distance (15 rounds) he may have pulled it out. The 3rd fight speaks for itself, one of the greatest slug fests ever, The Thrilla in Manila.

The blogbaba gives Ali/Frazier the nod for the heavyweights.
Middle weight trilogy isn't one, it's a six fight war between Sugar Ray Robinson and Jake LaMotta ending with Ray taking 5 of 6 and his first loss.
Honorable mentions are Leonard/Hearns, Barrara/Morales and Gotti/Ward.

i think the best trilogy ever was the fight of hopkins and taylor if it became a trilogy because hopkins would have come back and he lost to tayloor in a bad decision and he lose again. but it dont matter at all if hopkins wins against taylor because the score will still be two to one and hopkins still lose. because i think he is old and taylor is.
