I wouldnt waste your time on the CD idea, if you read back most people agree that they either wouldnt take them or would take them and immediately discard them in the garbage. Not many people will want to listen to YOUR favorite songs, they arent special to anyone but you, so keep that in mind and dont waste the money.
I would go for something in the edible realm. Most posters agree that if its something you can eat, they will take it. And you have a better chance of your money not winding up in the trash. Maybe you could find chocolates in the shape of music instruments or big square cookies iced to look like sheet music. Or even if you just put a tag on a box that says something like "Each day we play the strings of our hearts to make beautiful music together" and fill the box with hersey kisses.

Why not burn a CD of a collection of the bride and groom's favorite songs that will go along with the theme of the wedding. Then make copies and nice CD covers with bride and groom's names and wedding date. I think that would be such a cute favor.

How about sheet music to the bridal waltz? Or personalised guitar picks? A compilation CD of the nights music?

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find that much out there for a musical wedding theme. Hope some of the sources will at least spark your imagination...
Good Luck!

There are tons of ideas at www.theknot.com...just search under reception and look in their online shop as well.
Just some ideas off the top of my head...
- The mix CD is a great idea mentioned above.
- miniatures of the insturments they play, like a mini violin or piano.
- keyrings with the instruments they play.

how about chocolate shaped like a music note. I find that most of the trinkets you get at weddings end up getting thrown out. something edible won't. congrats!!
