Try going to DOS if possible. First you may see;
C:/windows
Type: CD.. Enter
Then type; Format C: or C:\ C:/ one of those Ha! You can tell I not been in DOS for some time, but, one of those should work.
Put the Win2000 CD in the drive and hold the shut down button or unplug, whatever, DOS not care. Then turn on and let the CD do it's thing.
Windows is the sh*t, if you not get this to work soon, it F your drive and give you a "Corrupted Hard Drive" message after the CD Format.

Try buying a new hard drive of abour 30 - 40 GB.

However, when speed matters, then install memory module (RAM) of about 256 or 512 which is very fine for XP and lower OS.

You can try Bart PE. It boots from CD and got windows-like interface.

Download Pe Builder From http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Back-Up-and-Recovery/Barts-PE-Builder.shtml

You will need Windows Installation Disk to create a Bootable CD. And do use a Rewrittable CD. You can use it to remove Windows XP files without deleting your important data.

But better option maybe to Download some Bootable Floppy/CD creators from www.download.com .
