Pretty much. Though there is always the opportunity to fix things, but its in your hands now. It might be best to talk to him and see where his head is at then decide whether or not if its a risk worth taking to try for a relationship.

Perhaps you did miss the opportunity. See as a guy, I can say that it takes a lot of "balls" to talk to a girl you like. So when a guy does finally muster up the cajones to make a move, and gets shut down, it's devastating. Even though now you want him and it's reversed, you may have burned him. All I can tell you sweety is to weigh out how much you dig this guy, and if you really don't just want what you can't have now. If you like him that much talk to him, make him feel like he's Brad Pitt to you. The secret to getting a man to worship you is Validation. Men need to be validated, to be needed. Good luck. I've been on both sides of that fence...Peace

You kind of did.

He put himself out there for you, and it sounds like he did it on more than one occasion.

So he finally gave up in believing that you liked him.

Everything he told you was probably the truth, he liked you, he understood why you had trouble being in a relationship.

But he couldnt understand why he couldnt get you to give him a chance, so now he either lowered his standards a bit or he found someone else that was your equal or better.

If he really liked you, then you just have to be upfront with him and let him know how you feel. If you want him now, you cant play games, he'll just think youre wanting his attention.

Well not really because you told him that you didn't want to get hurt and he understood! So now just go to him and tell him that the feelings you have for him is still there and i think/know that the our relationship can go far so would you go out with me!? then from there you would get your answer! "There is stuch a thing as second chances"

did you lose a chance?

YES

Did many many more chances open up as a result?

YES

Chances are anyways guys like girls to be difficult. Don't like women who are too easy. Don't go too rough on the "hard to get" though, guys are patient, not THAT patient.

Yep. When you reject a guy you generally do lose a chance, unless he is particularly desperate or masochistic and is willing to grant you a second chance.

sometimes this is what happens when we act in defense of something... or in anticipation of something... in some cases, it's not yet too late to correct the wrong actions or decisions we've made... if you think you're not yet late, act now and rectify whatever you've done....
